You probably all knew already, but look at all these names. They are taken from the "Prose Edda" from Snorri Sturluson (1178 – September 23, 1241). How many names do you know?
Then strode all the mighty | to the seats of judgment, The gods most holy, | and together held counsel, Who should of dwarves | shape the peoples From the bloody surge | and the Blue One's bones. They made many in man's likeness, Dwarves in the earth, | as Durinn said.
And these, says the Sibyl, are their names:
Nýi and Nidi, | Nordri and Sudri, Austri, Vestri, | Althjófr, Dvalinn; Nár, Náinn, | Nípingr, Dáinn, Bifurr, Báfurr, | Bömburr, Nóri, Óri, Ónarr, | Óinn, Mjödvitnir, Viggr and Gandálfr, | Vindálfr, Thorinn, Fíli, Kíli, | Fundinn, Váli; Thrór, Thróinn, | Thekkr, Litr and Vitr, Nýr, Nýrádr, | Rekkr, Rádsvidr.
And these also are dwarves and dwell in stones, but the first in mould:
| Draupnir, Dólgthvari, Hörr, Hugstari, | Hledjólfr, Glóinn; Dóri, Óri, | Dúfr, Andvari, Heptifíli, | Hárr, Svíarr.

Haha....would I now? Well, IMHO I have to say I still have a bigger love from the Greek mythology, though Tolkien is a close second. But that's just me being obsessed by those Greek gods

Well, let's start with the Norse at first. There are a few cool things in there, with of course the Ragnarok at first. The Ragnarok, the end of the world, both mortal and immortal know that they are going to die at the Ragnarok, what will happen, who they fight and who will die first. And they know, whatever they do, they can't stop it from happening. Other things, Thor might seem like a cool god with mystical powers, but essentially he's just a god with a big hammer who has the mental capacities of a toddler and just wants to kill, hit, main (and sometimes have sex with) Giants. That is what he lives for. He even dressed up as a woman once to get Mjolnirr back. Loki is the bomb, Loki is cool, smart and wants to screw everything up....always. That dude is so evil, he would win any competition (though I must say Set is a close second to that..> ). You know the story how Baldr was killed? He had a dream in which he was killed and those dreams were often prophecies, so his mother Frigg made every single thing, object, creature, plant, whatever take a vow that they would never hurt Baldr. But the mistletoe was so small and insignificant that they did not make him take the vow. So, when Loki found that out he made a spear (sometimes it is said to be an arrow) and went to Baldr. Well, all the gods were jackasses and threw and shot things at Baldr for they knew it would just bounce off him. All except Hodd, for he was a blind god and Loki guided him into using the spear to throw and then Baldr was killed. That guy is a genius, Loki Of to the Greeks, I just looked up that painting, that one is brutal. But that was said to had happened. What I like about the Greek Mythology is that not a single God is evil. Though often Hades is depicted as evil, especially if you look at the Hercules thingie, but he is not evil, he's more of a guy who doesn't care for most things that happened. Also, I like the fact that most stories are about mere mortals, or demi-gods who just fight evil monsters, which is quite appealing. The Odyssey, damn, that is one of the best stories ever written, the same with the Iliad. What is quite funny is Zeus, the God of always trying to have sex with hot chicks which his wife Hera always tries to stop. He gets more inventive every single time he tries again. He once was in Asia where a girl lived which had the name Europa and he abducted her by taking her on his back while he was a White Bull and then swam to the lands of Europe, and that's why Europe has that name. The Greek Gods also tend to punish mortals more then rewarding them for anything. While they were not evil, they actually only had rivalries when two of their mortal champions fought on different sights of the battle, like the battle of Troy. Poseidon and Appolo themselves had made the walls of Troy. And I thought that Athena and Hera were for the other side. The Egyptian Gods are not much better, I think they are even worse then the Greek ones, more rival to each other, even killing each other. Mmmm..I have never heard of those names you say, I have to look into that.

Haha....well, it really is something to cry about. The thunder God, probably the most popular under the new cultures, since he is also represented in his own Comics as well as being a team member of a Super Team. Anyways, he really is so bad, the time he dressed up as a woman was to get near the Giant that stole his hammer. He ended up almost marrying the dude. I think Loki had something to do with it. Mjolnir (with one R, I said two....shame on me) is an incredibly cool hammer, which I will show with some images: Okay, these images are from the comics, the first is Thor with his hammer at his back, poised to strike, already glowing with the power of thunder. The hammer is incredibly cool. The second one is the inscription Mjolnir has in the comics: Okay, now you have two pictures I found. First is an amulet people carried through the ages as a sign of admiring him. The second one is so cool, this is probably how people saw Thor. Mjolnir as a cloud, lightning working through it. I think he did. Well, I would say it is quite inventive. But it does make him seem like a god who has nothing to put chase after women. You might think his followers and his demi-god sons needed to have some attention. Two months ago or something a group of fanatics won a trial in Greece as the judge deemed the reverance, both openly and private, of the ancient Greek gods not a crime anymore. So, now you have people in Greece who actually revere those gods, that is so cool. Props to them. Wow, that is such a cool name and it actually means something. Would you really say that? Nice, I would listen to it about twenty times and then give up saying it. Could you also say those two other names, cause I would like to know how you actually say the 'lch'. I don't think my city Uden means something, maybe: 'Close to absolutely nothing'. Betwys-y-Coed: I would've said that as you read it, which is quite faulty. It would've been 'Betwiss eye Coed' Dolgellau: I almost said that correct, though I did not say the ch to it. But the lauw comes normal to the people of the Netherlands.

Sian, pronounced as 'Sjan", right? I would guess that, particularly because that's quite a common name here. Written differently though. Haha, I guess Thor's always grounded then Well, I think Odin could make him do that, I think that is the only God stronger then Thor. No, wait, Baldr was the strongest. I like Appolo when he's together with his twin, Artemis. I don't know which story that was, but that was so deep and dramatic, containing both of them. Also, the story of how they were born was good. And the oracle of Appolo at Delphi is quite cool, particularly now people think that those fumes that rose out of the earth just made the oracle high always. I like Poseidon the best, particularly because he is always the second one. He did not drew the longest straw and did not get the heaven to rule over. He wanted to be the patron god of Athens, but lost to Athena when she made the Olive Tree and he couldn't beat that. He built the walls of Troy together with Appolo and though the walls still stood, his side lost the war. He hated Oddyseus because he killed the Cyclops Polyphemus, the son of Poseidon. But, besides every thing he did the other gods protected Oddyseus and he never died. I hate the Romans for doing that, they just stole everything and called it their own. I think I can name all those Roman gods and then give them the Greek name. Funny fact, Hercules is the Roman name, it is actually Heracles. Wicker Man with Cage is cool, but could be much better. I like the fact it ended so bad (except for the fact that he died ). Ouh, those meetings sounds cool, I have to check on that. And on that book, I'll check on that soon.

That thing at the Stones seems like a thing you have to do one time in your life at least if you're interested in it. I would like to do it. But the fact is, I either totally like those people or I do not, not in the least bit. It's a little edgy I have a very in depth book here of the mythology, but I think it is Dutch. Furthermore the Iliad and the Odyssee are must reads for people interested in that. Want in depth reading? Read that, seriously. Delphi? I want to see that. Acropolis? I want to see that. Knossos? Bring me there. The place where Troy stood? Fly me there now. Any other thing which I can't remember, because I had a couple of beers and it is late? Really..I want to see that. Care to join me on a little tour around Europe for those things?

Haha, he surely went to the wrong place then. He should've chosen anything along the Portugese of Spain coast, but he choose Crete. Lol. Slates and chalk you say? Weren't that the times were people who were left handed were punished and their left hand tied to their back so they could only write with their right hand? And you're so right, it is quite hard to visit many of those places. And you're not even thinking far enough now, you're going towards the Middle East now, what do you think about overseas? Old temples of the Incas and the Mayas, those are so beautiful and talk about the feeling there. Wow. Those old Chinese and other Asian Temples and Government buildings. I even want to see the Kremlin in person once. And now we're only thinking of human-made things. How about the nature? That big rock with a name which I forgot in Australia. Tasman Island, Madagascar. The rainforests of South-America, Tibet, the Andes in Peru. Wow, I have a lot I still want to see before I die.

Haha....I could see that happen. I am not scared of any sort of animal, I'm so proud of myself. But of course, you can visit the fabolous cities in Central and South America where they have some great ancient architecture, and you would be avoiding the spiders all together. That reminds me of a funny anecdote, we were watching Snakes on a Plane with a friend who was terrified of snakes. So, every now and then when a snake would pop up one of my friends would sneak up behind him and touch him when the snake struck his target. It was hilarious, if he could grab the ceiling he would have. Ah, I am such a little bastard at times. Every-one has to die? Indeed, you are quite right. And dying while exploring the world sound so much more interesting then dying of old age where I lose all memories and can't do anything but sit around, not even able to write anymore.

Have you ever gone out to your local forest before the sun rises or just at sunrise? The silence...the little forest creatures, the emptiness of your being as you look at those. I might be a dreamer like that, but it is so beautiful then. Like that little river you show in the picture, that's what I like to see. Luxembourg is beautiful, lots of mountains, lots of green, beautiful! I walked through a city in the Summer and it was died down, I never met a Luxembourger that week, but I had a great time in the nature. Percy Fawcett has figured it out, he did what he liked and when he died I think he died with a smile on his face and fullfilment in his heart. Spiders or not, he was there. It's a shame I do not have a passion, because I would give my life for such a thing. Archaeology, a friend of mine is going to study that. It's going to be great, I think. I always had massive interest in that, mostly because it was a little boys' dream, like every little boy has one. When boys wanted to be Cowboys, I wanted to be a Native American, for they had such a rich culture and shamans always were favored by me. I'm crazy, I know that, but I at least feel good by doing it

Parents can be so lovely when being strict. I have friends in two small towns a few miles from here and when I ride to one I pass a forest and even go a little bit through a forest, and therefore I may not ride there on my own when it is dark. I often use that as an excuse to come home later, simply for the fact that nobody else left yet I love those pieces of nature. I am not one to stand up at 4 am for that, though I have always told myself I would do that someday, but it neverer got that far. I must say that in Holland and especially where I live you will not find something like in the pictures above (not the Mjolnir ) and I regret that. Most of the forests here are planted in rows and such. If I want to see beautiful nature I need to age a year, get my drivers license, buy a car, buy gass and travel a long way to the north. But then again, Holland does have beautiful Islands in the North as well, it's lovely there. I like the sea (and pirates )

Can't blame your mother, I understand her completely. Wow, that's cool. Such a little 'ghost town' is very cool. I mean, Holland is great, but it misses a few things. It misses great nature like which you can already find in Luxembourg. It does not have those old castles or ruins of ancient civilization, but it does have some wonderful, beautiful churches. It does not even have to little cities where it seems nobody lives or that they still live in the Dark Ages. I miss that here, other then that, Go Holland! We were on vacation in Luxembourg once and it was wonderful. It's full with mountains and hills and it is all covered in a green sheet of leaves. We were walking there for hours without encountering civilizations, but we did find a ruin which looked like an enormous gate. Even better, we were at the city close to our camp spot and it was empty. It had the most beautiful dragon fountain ever, but it was empty. No person, no car, no bike, not even a bird. It was weird and at the same time beautiful. I want to go visit your uncle, I love the sea and the sun setting in and rising from the sea. But then again, I am one to want to swim in it. No matter how cold or hot it is.

Wow, that sounds so beautiful. If I once have the money and the means I wish to have a shed like that. Though have you ever been over that huge bridge in Luxembourg, that has to be one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen. We rode there and when you looked down you could see hundreds of metres in the depth as it connected two mountains on which two parts of the same city lay. And the edges of that mountain were filled with trees and one but a few places there were houses, which stood in the middle of the woods looking down on a beautiful river. And they were still close to the city. But it makes me sad that in that live people that are most likely rich and live there because it is expensive, instead of just buying it for the shere beauty of it. Back to the long place names, I got a paper in which this name stood. In New-Zealand is a place which is called: TaumatawhakatangihangakoauauotamateapokaiwhenuakitanatahuWhen I read that I had to think about you and your place names By the way, it means something like: The summit where Tamatea, the man with the big knees, the climber of mountains, the land-swallower who travelled about, played his flute to his loved oneA beautiful description. Another name for the place: TetaumatawhakatangihangakoauaotamateaurehaeaturipukapihimaungahoronukupokaiwhenuaakitanarahuThe official name of Bangkok: Krungthep Mahanakhon Amonrattanakosin Mahintharayutthaya Mahadilokphop Noppharatratchathani Burirom-udomratchaniwet Mahasathan Amonphiman Awatansathit Sakkathattiya Witsanu Kamprasitor: Krung-dçvamahânagara amararatanakosindra mahindrayudhyâ mahâtilakabhava navaratanarâjadhânî purîrâmasya utamarâjanivçsana mahâsthâna amaravimâna avatârasthitya shakrasdattiya vishnukarmaprasiddhiTranslation: The city of angels, the great city, the eternal jewel city, the impregnable city of God Indra, the grand capital of the world endowed with nine precious gems, the happy city, abounding in an enormous Royal Palace that resembles the heavenly abode where reigns the reincarnated god, a city given by Indra and built by VishnukamAnd just to be pathetic, the longest place name in Holland with only 24 marks: Gasselternijveenschemond Holland is pathetic
