Why don't more people play hobbits? The hobbit lifestyle is quite comfortable, not to mention that the subject-matter is something quite easy to understand. The characters are simple enough to get a grasp of, so.... why are there only three hobbits here?
I do understand that hobbits lack adventure, which is what most people want to play, but in reading some of the threads around here, there isn't that much action! Imagine playing a hobbit, where a boat ride could be the biggest adventure in your life. I think playing a hobbit actually requires more imagination, because you have to make things that are simple and boring to you exciting and new.
Any thoughts?

I used to play as a hobbit all the time ^^ But then some nasty person had to go and say:

Why would people want to play hobbits when there are elves? Its easy to be a bit gluttonous and overweight and hairy in real life...I'd rather be an elf, lol!

I don't know, elves are fun to play, don't get me wrong, I mean, who wouldn't want to live forever? But there is a thin element in hobbits that you have to be wary of, that hobbits think a trip across the Shire is an adventure, that traveling to places like Bree are fantastic adventures. Of course, not all hobbits would be as such, such as, the Hornblowers probably only travel for parties and such, whereas the Tooks and Brandybucks, who live on the edge of the Shire, oftentimes travel outside its borders to see what lies beyond. Any hobbit who lives across the Brandywine more than likely has a greater sense of adventure, which might be why Frodo was just a little curious about leaving the Shire. Most of his days as a lad were spent with the Brandybucks.

I really wish we had more hobbits here. Perhaps the problem stems from the fact that we don't have anyone playing the hobbits in The Fellowship. It's kind of a vicious cycle, really.

I've thought of picking up Merry or Pippin, maybe even Sam, to get more of the main plot rolling, but I don't think I would play a male hobbit well. We have most of the Fellowship members, it's just a matter of getting the three other hobbits.
^__^
Unless someone wanted to play another character and be a hobbit.

I did have a Rohan guard character coming along but I will be willing to scrap that if you guys would like a hobbit from the fellowship to be filled. I only created another character as well it is very lonely in Gondor and I wanted to be somewhere else as well and I like Rohan...but I also like the way of life for a hobbit. I will leave it in your hands as well it is your site I am new here so I do not want to seem too forceful.

Well, you can create whatever character you will enjoy playing the most. If you have more fun playing someone from Gondor, then make your man, but if you want to play a hobbit, I won't stop you.

Well, then I stand alone in playing a hobbit. Perhaps it is because my own life is filled with such adventures that might be compared to an elves (getting lost in Seattle at three in the morning with no car to speak of, wandering around Paris for a whole day and managing on twenty euros [very difficult, I might add], lots of car adventures that deal with getting lost, my favorite being when I started on one side of a mountain range looking for a lake to picnic at and ending up at the ocean [pm for more details], and other similar quests.) that the life of a hobbit is very appealing to me. So simple, so carefree and worry free. Like I said, it's very appealing to me.
