Two days earlier...
I had been tracking a small group of Orcs, about twenty in all. I sneaked up on them on the border of Lorien and attacked after having followed them for a week. Unfortunately, there were five others I did not know of until it was too late. These others were archers who hid in the foliage as the rest of their group trekked through the forest. Their arrows were riddled with evil poisons, some of these unknown to the races of men, elves, and dwarves. As I fought, I was able to take down ten of the orcs...and then the first arrow hit. It buried itself in my left shoulder, and unknowing of the toxins that would soon spread through my veins, I snapped off the shaft but left the tip still inside my arm, thinking I could bandage it later. I took down seven more orcs, and then I was hit with two more arrows, this time in my right leg and my right forearm. I thanked Eru for their innaccuracy and felled the last three orcs, then launched myself on the archers, soon having their bodies lying on the forest floor with their heads cut cleanly off their shoulders. Then the poisons began to work.
"Im na-laiva," I whispered hoarsely, dragging myself on the ground, clawing at the earth in a frenzy. My tunic was shredded and blood trickled from my arms and legs; I was too weak to remove the arrows that protruded from my limbs, tearing at my sinews every time I moved and digging into the leafy soil. "Help nin, ni-" The words died on my cracked lips. I tried to shout, but it was more of a croak, coming from parched lips that had already thrown up most of my stomach's contents. I tried to yell again, feverishly switching from the Elvish to the Common Tongue, "Im na-beleth...Nin na fírina...Help nin!"
The poison clouded my mind, making me claw the soil even more frantically, but now I was getting nowhere. My bloodshot eyes dimly saw a shadow of a being in the distance. I summoned all the strength that was left in my fevered veins and screamed at the top of my lungs, "Nin na fírina!" I thought I saw the silhouette of a male elf..."Aranas?" I whispered weakly. Then as his face drew closer spots danced in front of my eyes and I pleaded, "Yána..." My head fell to the ground and the sky turned black. Nin na fírina, I thought as the darkness took me. Hi na-Udún...
