He was back. Aragorn, my love, my protector, my king.
Long had he been gone fromt he protection of my city, and long had it been since we had touched. He had left, in search of his destiny, and in search of himself. He had not found his place in this world in Rivendell, and I do not blame him, for I was there, clouding his vision.
My eyes wandered from the grey tunic, up to his face. His eyes were soft, and searching. His hands touched my face, my shoulders, as if he was in disbelief. I smiled and touched his cheeks with my hands. His face was cold.
"My love," I whispered. "You have come back to me."
"This is a dream," he whispered back, pulling on the hair behind my left ear. "I know this isn't real... you are so far from me now. If only I could hold you in my arms, right now." He let go of me and started to walk away, over the bridge. I pulled on his cloak and he turned around. He leaned in close to me and placed a delicate kiss on my lips. I felt my love swell for him, and I pulled away.
"You must rest now," I told him. "You have much to accomplish in your day..."
I awoke slowly, sweetly. This was the sixth time I had dreamed of Aragorn this week, and each time was as the last. I was so glad, so happy to see him. So enthralled to be in his arms again, so in love.
I could feel that he was missing me as well. Somewhere in the North, he was cold and dreaming of me, wishing he was in my arms as much as I wished I was in his.
My life was turning and twisting. A dreadful chill was in the air. Not a chill that humans or dwarfs could feel. There was an ominous blast of evil blowing from the East, and from the South as well. I was half tempted to go in search of this evil, so I might tell Ada, who was so busy with other matters.
But, he was my Ada, and the ruler of Rivendell. I know that I am not permitted at the moment to go outside of the magic. I cannot, I am the daughter of a mighty man. I love him, as only a iell can for her ada. But alas, sometimes not even he knows what is best for her.
