[glow=black,2,300][/glow]I've always wondered about the Ringwraiths - who are (or were) they? What are their names? What is their history?
The only names I know are the Witch-King and Khamul, I don't know the rest.

Well, they came from the nine rings given to mortal kings. I don't know too much more.

It doesn't seem that Tolkien gave much background on them, which is a shame. Maybe someone else knows more than I do?

Khamul was a great King from the east (Rhun), as for the Witch king and the other Wraiths it is not clear; but they were once powerful men, whom traded their humanity for even greater power.
That is about all that is known as to their former selves, though they were regarded as 'kings of old'
They are never described in much detail, I think they are so apart from their old human selves they have forgotten who they were completely.
