The Company

Greetings,

I am Suvyan Singollo and I am going to start a story in Middle-Earth which will feature a lot of characters.

I am basing the story on The Lord of the Rings: The Third Age.
What will happen is my character, Caranir Umbarcadil, a Gondorian Mage, will be travelling through Eregion in Eriador when he is ambushed by three of the Nazgúl, who are in the area. He is wounded, but a character (undecided) will rescue him and heal him.
The two will decide to travel together to Minas Tirith, to help fight in the War of the Ring. Along the way they will encounter many enemies and gain companions.

If you like the sound of this then please join the Company. I would like many companions who are as varied as possible. I would suggest that Colwen post first (that is, if she wishes to rp in this story), as she is a healer and an ideal starting companion.

My character is Caranir, who is under another account, but I will be using it purely for the story. If you wish to contact me or anything please do so to Suvyan. I will only log in as Caranir to post.

Oh, I forgot to mention - if you wish to join, please pm me or reply below with a link to your character profile, so I can see what your character is like. It is rather unlikely that I won't let you join, so don't worry (if you were worrying, that is).

I also think I should mention that the characters I am looking for are not well-known characters. They are simple warriors, etc, who would be unmentioned in the LOTR books. Basically, they would appear to be extras, yet are prominent in this story. (I hope this makes sense).

I'd love to join this RP if I may. At what point in the Third Age is this set - is it just before the War of the Ring? I ask because Halhigil would be at a different point in his life depending on when it's set. Either way, he'd have fairly good reason to be around the Eregion area.

Well, since it's the Middle-earth boards and not prone to the "canon" of our characters, Colwen could definitely make an appearance; her history would have to be slightly different for the context of the role play, but that is easily enough explained.

I've just started the first post in Eregion, so you can post now. I would like Colwen to be the first post after me.

If it's okay with you all, I'd like to propose the plot for the first few posts.
Colwen will come to the aid of Caranir and drive away the Nazgúl (somehow). They will talk. Colwen tells Caranir that he has been asked to return to Minas Tirith in case of a battle (which of course there will be). The two decide to travel together toward the Misty Mountains and Moria. When they reach the edges of Moria, there they will meet the next companion.

I think it would be more effective if people could wait a little before joining in - certain events have to happen and we should find new characters in different and varied places.
