Hello there,

I am known as Swordy and I have come to this rpg seeking warm-fuzzy Lord of the Rings rp goodness. I was also pleased to see the rules against the whole 'I'm a warrior she-elf who fights better than everyone else and I'm beautiful and ride a crazy stallion! Whoo!'.

I haven't yet made my character yet as you can see, although I am in the pondering stages of whether or not to audition for a character. But I shall get to know the place a bit better for a bit first.

The quality of the posts and depth in the rules were some of the reasons I joined this game.
What kinds of characters does the game lack/need at the moment?

I know there are the canon characters still needed. But what I was wondering whether or not there was any types on non-canon character types that were still needed on the game. Competition eh? do you mean Sauron and Saruman are being fought over? I'm thinking with joining as an evil character, although I'm not sure exactly yet.

I'm still looking around to get the hang of the whole site and to familiarize myself with how the game is run.

Nah, with the competition our dear Admin tries to get people to play evil characters. The competition is for original characters, not for canon. As you can see there, we have a third, second and first place to give to people. Canon characters are very welcome here.

As for non-canon characters, we do need really need any non-canon characters, maybe we could use some more evil ones. We don't have any dwarf yet to. But it is entirely up to you to figure out what kind of a non-canon character you wish to play. Have fun with making your charrie.

Thanks Dûnhád, before when I used to play lotr games I was usually from Gondor, Rohan or Mordor and occasionally from Lothlorien. They were usually some kind of tavern keeper, ranger, blacksmith or a maid to someone else. Or in the case of Mordor, one was an Orc Dungeon Keeper.
I've never played a dwarf before, so that will definitely be something I would consider doing.

I didn't see anyone audition for Sauron, although I think he would be a very good character to play. But before I would audition for him I would have to read up on him quite alot.

Hrmm I haven't rped within a lotr world for a long time, so I don't think playing Sauron would be a good idea for me. Maybe when I've read more into the world again and had greater knowledge of it. Although even if I did, playing him would be pretty difficult regardless.

I was thinking maybe auditioning as Haldir, although I might join with a non-canon first and get the flow of things. Although I would be happy enough as the lurker who logs on, just to read the posts that are here. They're great reads!

Create the character of your fancy, as it will help you enjoy this place more. I would not ask of you to write someone who is needed, but rather, someone you would enjoy.

Thanks Arwen There are alot of different kinds of characters I want to play, but I don't want to spread myself too thin.

Sooner or later you will probably see an audition of some kind from me.
