The village at the southern tip of Buckland, at the place where the River Withywindle flowed out of the Old Forest into the Brandywine. It was named for the fact that it stood at the end of the High Hay, the Hedge raised to protect the Bucklanders from the strange things that lived in the Forest and beyond it. According to the poem Bombadil Goes Boating, its inhabitants had a more fierce and protective attitude than most hobbits, which is hardly surprising given the perilous location of their village.
Thus Haysend is the village at the end of the High Hay

I hate jumping into the minefield, especially since I'm still contemplating what character to re-activate (yes there are many from old LOTR rpgs that are sitting around in a box) *shakes fist at Frodo (it's all your fault!)* But... why would an elf be born in the Shire? Doesn't make sense to me. LOTR Elves stick to their own kin.
Oh and by the way. Kusarigama are always a sickle with a chain attached to the handle and a little weight at the end, NEVER a scythe (there were no scythes in feudal Japan). No idea how those would end up in Middle Earth (they could, at best, be used by some Easterlings and even there I'd doubt it, because I don't think Tolkien knew much about Japanese weapons), but eh... back I go to rolling a D20 on the characters.

I can't help, but be glad that it is 'real' place... wasn't where I expected you to be from... Hay, why don't you be a Hobbit, we need those...

Yes well I was going to have her not grow up with her own kin seeing as I wanted her life to be somewhat differant. I could change it a little maybe even have half elf half hobbit. Nah just jokeing. I like her how she is. And I know they didn't have japan weapons but I just wanted to be differant.

Well, yeah, but kusarigama are usually associated with shinobi or criminals (historically speaking, you usually see them mentioned only as a tool of shinobi, and sometimes criminals like the one Musashi defeated when he was still at the beginning of his career; and now please, for the love of any god, don't tell me the character is a shinobi, because then I'm going to scream). And they take an awful lot of skill, yet can be countered rather easily by a skilled opponent. I'd say a weapon like that would definitely attract unwanted attention in Middle Earth.

Well Melody is in a sense a killer which makes her a criminal. But no she is not a shinobi so don't worry. And I know it takes skill and Melody was trained to use Kusarigama. So she knows how to use one seeing how old she is, (2,932 years old) she has had lots of time to learn how to use it as well as a sword and bow.

is it a weapon of her own design...?
Perhaps fashioned from a hobbit sized farm implement attached to a chain... You do realise hobbits don't live anywhere near as long as elves, don't you? Your adopted parents will be long, long dead; along with the next 50 generations of their family assuming they are still living in Haysend...
I know this is fantasy, but its a little far fetched I'm afraid...

Yeah I know I have fixed it so that she was raised by a lot of other humans. And she is a full dark elf. And lets just say that the weapon was made by a human and gave to her and she self learnt herself. And now she dosen't come from Haysend.
